Skincare Routine

I have never ever had a skincare routine. I know, so bad. But I was always on the hunt for products that would save my skin, and I feel like I've found them.

Morning
I like to use the Ultrabland cleanser from Lush in the morning. I've gone through many of these and I just love it, the smell is a bit meh because it's got a lot of beeswax in it, which actually makes your skin clear up so well. It's a balm consistency which means if you don't have a good flannel it has a tendency to stay on your face! But it does a good job.

I then use my Kind to Skin Protecting Facial Cream from Simple, I've gone through two of these and I love it. It has loads of good things in such as high SPF and UVA protection. It also contains glycerin which keeps your makeup, hence why I love using in the morning before makeup.

I like to use an eye-cream in the morning too so my undereye concealer doesn't crease as much, and for that I use to the Simple Kind to Eyes cream.

Evening
I like to use my Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm to take my makeup off. You barely need any of it and it just makes your skin feel so clean! Sometimes with the Liz Earle cleanse and polish, I have to do another cleanse to make sure the makeup is off thoroughly, but with this I don't!

I like using serums at night and for that I use the Emma Hardie plumping skin serum. You barely need any of it and it just makes my skin loads so much more healthier when I wake up in the morning! I then either use the Liz Earle Skin Repair moisturizer for combination skin with Benefit Total Moisture on my dry matches. Or, I go lightly with the Liz Earle Superskin moisturizer. I finish off with the Emma Hardie serum for eyes and that's me done!

Other products I like to use are the Effacular Duo from La Rosche Posay, the Liz Earle cleanse and polish and the Emma Hardie moringa facial exfoliator. I love Lush face masks too!

(Please forgive me for my photography skills, I use my iPhone and I haven't got very good editing skills, lemme know if there are any good editing apps you know!)

Waterproof Makeup

For those of you who may or may not know, I am a lifeguard and swimming teacher. I teach swimming four times a week, and lifeguard around that. My job means that sometimes I have to get in the pool, either expected or unexpectedly. Thankfully, most of the time I don't have to get in, but there is always a chance. So, I like to wear makeup that I know will not drip down my face if it does happen.
I apologise my brows are awful, they are due a wax!

I like to opt for a lighter foundation or a BB cream when I work, I can't actually remember what I wore here but I think it was L'Oreal Nude Magique or Rimmel Matte BB Cream!
Brows are always filled in, but with a wax instead. I like the Sleek eyebrow stylist, and don't forget the brow gel!

I like using colour tattoos from Maybelline, they stay on forever and they can be subtle, or strong, depending on how much you want!

Always use a powder, and waterproof mascara! I like Maybelline Lash Sensational. TIP: It hurts if you get mascara or in particular concealer in your eyes, so light coats of mascara and extremely light on the under eye concealer!

I don't bother with lipsticks or gloss so I just use a lip balm! :)

I hope this helped some of you, this could also be used in the summer if you're at the pool or if it's just a really hot day!

Preparing for a University Interview

Recently, I made a post stating I was applying for University. I sent my application off on the 13th of January, got an email on the 20th stating I needed an interview, went for my interview on the 1st of Feb. Got an offer there and then, and got an email through an hour after I left, confirming my offer.
Yaaaaaaaas.
I read every single post there was on university interviews, what they would ask, what I would wear, how to prepare. Basically, you name it, I read it. But I figured I would answer it all in my one post, and give realistic tips on prepping for an interview!

1. Read about the University
One of the main things they want to know is, "Why us?" and honestly, that's an easy one to answer. For example, One of my universities, was in Cheltenham. So I explained, that I'd had friends that studied there that enjoyed it and that it was close to home. They like it aswell when you mention what sort of things you're looking forward to doing there, extracurricular things they love!

2. Why do you want to do it?
Simple, easy but one of the hardest questions to get a correct answer I think. For this, I would just think of one valid point and just expand. Don't list a million reasons, list one point, explain and bam, nailed it.

3. Work Experience
My course didn't really expect you to have work experience, but if you have any experience, or situations that applies to the course. Throw it in, it may earn you some extra brownie points!

4. Try and be the first to answer
A part of my interview process was a question and answer sort of thing in a group, it was very informal yet formal at the same time. He asked if we had any questions, and because I didn't, we had a brief beforehand about the course and I understood it well enough, I answered his questions first.
So it was a 'okay you don't have any questions, but how do your answers go?' basically, show you're keen!

5. Be nice to the other interviewees.
In our interview, we were all together for majority of it. The interviewers said to not see eachother as competition, because there was no need to be. Regardless of that, you still think you are in a bit of competition. But be nice! They want someone that is going to nice for their university, so making conversation, holding doors open and just being generally nice can make your interview experience that bit less stressful! Also, this goes without question, be reaaaally nice to the interviewer, I helped mine pack his things away and he was very appreciative!

6. Research what sort of questions you may be asked.
The Student Room is essentially loads of wanna be, current and past students all giving advice and discussing universities. I found a discussion on what sort of questions you could be asked, I was only asked one of them but they are especially helpful to prepare you for those tricky questions!

7. Keep calm.
I know, easier said than done. You should've seen me before my interview, I was a wreck, shaking, moody, couldn't eat or drink. Although I did have a big breakfast so please do that. My University said it was more an interview for them, to see if they were right for us, rather than the other way around. Treat it like that, they need to be right for you! Drink lots of water, and just remain calm.

So there's a few tips for you, please feel free to leave any questions below on the interviews, I'd be more than happy to help you out. :)

The Power of Makeup

A lot of people think that girls wear makeup to impress boys, intimidate others or just to mask themselves. For me, I wear makeup to express myself and be creative. I'm not a creative person, I was crap at art, I can't play any musical instrument and DIYs just aren't me. Makeup is my way of being creative. I started wearing makeup at the age of 18. I didn't wear foundation every day until I was 19. I'm now 20, 21 at the end of the year. My friends in school wore foundation and it looked horrific so I never wore it, despite the fact my skin was aaawwwfffuuulll. YouTube and blogging definitely made me want to wear makeup, I adored watching videos and I just learnt everything from there. My friends that couldn't apply makeup properly, are no longer friends (not because of their makeup haha) and I run into them and I've changed so much. I also love makeup shopping and I feel like makeup is my hobby? Like I get excited to shop makeup, I watch videos on makeup and I write about it!

Uploading these pictures are a big deal for me. As you can see, I haven't got the best skin. At the minute it is super bad, that's due to stress, bad eating and other contributing factors.

I apologize for the awful lighting and the emoji top. It was 12:23am and I got the last minute inspiration.
